Drawing daily 1

I want to improve my genreal drawing so that I can find drawing on a tablet easier then at the moment. To do this i'm going to do at least an hour of drawing in my sketchbook a day.

Today's doodles:

Hands research ( I tend to leave hands out of my drawings)

A man selling fruit in Mashhad, Iran. Ink and water-colours.

Woman outside mosque Mashhad, Iran. Ink.

The power of an image.

Living in London I saw "The occupy movement" first hand. I went to quite a few protests and spent a few nights at the camp (due to friends forcing me it wasn't really that comfortable but there was many musical artists that played free entertainment at night as well as free food.) At one of these protests I had just started to really like film photography so I took a few snaps. I never really put them onto the internet until this January.

One photo from that day I put onto Devientart. It is of this little girl who was with her parents, she stole her mothers sign and started marching up and down outside St Pauls with it. I did't think much of it other than she was enjoying herself. So I took a very quick picture that came up kind of blurry because the girl just wanted to march.

I forgot I put this image ono the internet until tonight when I logged onto the site and had hundereds of comments left on the photo and 8,000 views. The picture had been featured with this note next to it "A child representing adult's opinions makes for a thought-provoking image"   The image of a small girl with a sign had got so any people angry/happy/confused/political it was strange that an image I had taken with no thought had spurred an argument between people. I suppose that's just the power of an image. Anyway i'm just happy to have made people think and that not many really notice it was actually out of focus (I'll pretend it was ment to be)

Here is the image:

Showreel from Semester One

I actually really enjoyed putting this together. Next time I need to render my maya films as they look "cleaner" when rendered.

Shintaro Ohata

Ohata mixes the use of sculpture and paint on canvas to create a layered effect. It reminds me the layered effect of stop motion but in fine art.

Sunday 20 January 2013

Made a start on my first concept drawing.

This may take a while. I think I will do my next two concept drawings in A4 instead of A3

The Accents make it worth the watch.

some quick tests on graphics tablet

As it's the last week till hand in I haven't had much of a chance to do much personal work but due to procrastination I have done some very quick doodles on my tablet. I am getting much more used to drawing digitally now. These drawings are in process and no where near finished at the moment.
