Desert Background research

Some initial designs. I did these pretty quickly and I'm not very happy with them. But have given me some basic idea of composition.

I decided to look at dali for some inspiration for painting the desert

Dali always makes the sky very large compared to the ground. Which in the desert it is actually like. He also uses really nice saturated strong colour palettes.
