Colour test for background for 3rd year project "The Boer"

I was given these three images as a moodboard and I had to make a colour pallete for "The Boer" shot 3 background (which i'll be doing next week). Alex (director of The Boer" gave me a lot of freedom on this but he specifically wanted it to be sun set and each colour had to have a hint of purple.

These are my colour tests. Once Alex has chosen one I will start doing the background.

Finally finished Pre-Production bible

These were our final shots done on CelAction. I did the first shot, Zoe the second. We managed to learn CelAction in two days so I'm quite happy with it even tho it could have been better animation.

Getting characters ready for cel action

After a tutorial with our new lecturer Nick Harrop he helped us work out how to animate our pre-production shots for "NQL." As colouring our characters is such a lengthy process due to the art style he suggested using cel action. I later asked him how I would cut up this character and he ent through how to cute from the closest to the furthest away. He also noted that we should take the stripes away as they would be a pain to animate and just make it look miss matched in cel action. And how we would only really need the 3 1/4 poses instead of a turnaround,

Here is my first attempt at cutting out the character. Starting with my initial design.

   

11 second club December.

So we've been given the soundclip from Decembers 11 second club. This clip has a lot of crashing sounds. I played with a few idea but have come up with one about a man bored in a gallery that his wife has dragged him too. Unfortunately he leans on a statue and it falls so he has to pick it all back up.

In our feedback we were told to bring the comedy across more with our concept images, so i've done a few more comedy poses with the mafia man. And then the beginnings of action shots for the geezer.
